For the second time in the past month we have had water problems. Now, I realize that every city has their own problems. I get that, but this is becoming a little too humorously ironic.
I work in a town that is located on right on the Ohio River. It’s a small town, maybe 4,000 people at most. Yesterday I walk into work and get ready for a few hours with a pile of books and a shelving kart. It is then that I am told that there is no water in the entire city. It turns out that a major water pipe broke, and they had to close down all water systems. No drinking fountains, heat (heating system runs off of boiler), drinking water, or bathrooms. I had the choice of using the only two working restrooms in the city; they were either a Bob Evans, or an Arby’s. The line for the bathroom at Bob Evans was out the door.
This is the second time this has happened.
About a month ago all water systems were shut off, and then a major boil order was placed because some dumbass worker at the water plant got confused and put hydraulic acid in the drinking water instead of fluoride. They claimed that the color of the barrels that the chemicals were kept in were the same, and that’s where the confusion originated.
Hydraulic acid?! Really?! The hospitals were full of people who burnt their skin off while try tried to wash their hands. No one at the water plant was fired for this mistake. In other news I saw a lovely rainbow the other day and hopefilly it means there are good things to come.
